Agreement to Receive Text Messages 

By providing your mobile telephone number and affirmatively opting into any Renters Help SMS or MMS messaging program, you expressly consent to receive recurring automated and/or non-automated text messages from Assisting Renters, doing business as Renters Help (“Renters Help,” “Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) at the mobile number you provided. 

These messages may include informational and educational content related to renting, tenant guidance, credit education concepts, budgeting tips, financial literacy, home buying preparation, newsletter updates, and other content related to Renters Help services. 

You acknowledge that consent to receive SMS messages is voluntary and is not a condition of purchase or use of the Site or services. 

By opting in, you represent and warrant that you are the authorized subscriber or customary user of the mobile telephone number provided and that you have authority to consent to receive messages at that number. 

 

Messaging Technology Disclosure 

You acknowledge and agree that Renters Help may use automated messaging platforms, manual messaging systems, or other technologies permitted by applicable law to deliver SMS messages. These systems may include technology that qualifies as an automatic telephone dialing system under applicable law where permitted. 

 

Program Description 

Renters Help operates an informational SMS messaging program designed to deliver educational content and updates. Messages may include, but are not limited to, articles, newsletters, renting guidance, tenant rights information, credit building education concepts, budgeting guidance, home buying preparation materials, service updates, and customer support communications related to user inquiries. 

Message content and timing may vary based on user interaction, subscription preferences, and available educational content. 

 

Message Frequency 

Message frequency varies depending on your interaction with Renters Help. Most subscribers may receive approximately 2 to 8 messages per month. Frequency may increase or decrease depending on engagement, subscriptions, or requested information. 

 

Message and Data Rates 

Message and data rates may apply according to your wireless carrier’s pricing plan. Renters Help is not responsible for any fees, taxes, or charges incurred by you in connection with SMS messaging. 

 

Opt-Out Instructions 

You may opt out of SMS messaging at any time by replying STOP to any message received from Renters Help. 

After sending STOP, you may receive a one-time confirmation message confirming your opt-out. After this, no further SMS messages will be sent unless you re-enroll. 

Additional supported opt-out keywords may include END, QUIT, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, STOPALL, or STOP ALL. 

Opting out of SMS messages does not affect your ability to use the Site or receive non-SMS communications where permitted by law.

Carrier Disclaimer 

Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed, failed, misdirected, or undelivered messages. Delivery of SMS messages is subject to effective transmission by your mobile carrier and network availability. Messaging services may not be available on all carriers or devices and may be subject to change without notice. 

 

Changes to Mobile Number 

If you change or transfer your mobile telephone number, you agree to notify Renters Help or re-enroll using your updated number. Renters Help is not responsible for messages sent to a reassigned or recycled number if you fail to update your contact information. 

 

Consent Records and Compliance 

Renters Help maintains records of consent in compliance with applicable laws, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), CTIA guidelines, and carrier requirements. 

These records may include your mobile telephone number, IP address, timestamp of consent, opt-in method, website URL, landing page content, consent language shown at the time of opt-in, device information, browser/user agent data, session information, and SMS interaction history for compliance and audit purposes. 

 

Privacy and Data Use 

Your participation in SMS messaging programs is governed by the Renters Help Privacy Policy. 

We do not sell, rent, lease, or share mobile telephone numbers, SMS opt-in data, or consent records with third parties for their own marketing purposes. 

We may share information only with trusted service providers that assist in operating SMS messaging programs, including messaging platforms, telecommunications carriers, cloud hosting providers, analytics providers, and customer support vendors, strictly for service delivery and compliance purposes. 

 

Program Modification or Suspension 

Renters Help reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any SMS messaging program at any time, including message content, frequency, eligibility, enrollment methods, or technical features, subject to applicable law. 

 

Disclaimer of Warranties 

SMS messaging services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, to the maximum extent permitted by law. 

 

Limitation of Liability 

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Renters Help and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from participation in SMS messaging programs. 

In no event shall the total liability of Renters Help exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100.00). 

 

Governing Law 

These Mobile Messaging Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to conflict of law principles.
