Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User,” “you,” or “your”) and Assisting Renters, a Michigan business operating under the assumed name Renters Help (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located at 4370 Chicago Dr SW Ste. 118, Grandville, MI 49418, governing your access to and use of https://renters.help/ (the “Site”) and related services, including SMS messaging programs and email communications. By accessing or using the Site, subscribing to communications, or opting into SMS messaging, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Nature of Services (Educational Content Only – No Professional Services)
Renters Help provides strictly informational and educational content only, including articles, newsletters, and general educational materials relating to renting, tenant rights, credit education and credit building concepts, budgeting, financial literacy, and home buying preparation. The Company’s content is intended to help users better understand general financial and housing-related topics and improve awareness of personal financial habits and decision-making.
For clarity, Renters Help may provide general credit education topics such as understanding credit reports, payment history factors, credit utilization concepts, budgeting strategies, and financial behavior best practices. However, the Company does not provide credit repair services, credit restoration services, credit dispute services, debt negotiation services, or any services that involve contacting credit bureaus or creditors on behalf of users.
Nothing on the Site constitutes legal, financial, tax, investment, mortgage brokerage, or real estate advice. No attorney-client, fiduciary, broker-client, or advisory relationship is created by your use of the Site or participation in any communication program. Users are solely responsible for their own financial, housing, and credit-related decisions and are strongly encouraged to consult licensed professionals before taking action.
Eligibility and Electronic Communications Consent
You represent and warrant that you are at least eighteen (18) years of age and legally capable of entering into binding agreements. By using the Site or submitting your contact information, you consent to receive electronic communications from the Company, including email and SMS messages where you have affirmatively opted in. You agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
SMS Messaging Program Description
By opting into the Renters Help SMS messaging program, you expressly consent to receive recurring text messages from or on behalf of the Company. These messages may include educational articles, newsletter updates, renting guidance, credit education content, budgeting tips, and home buying preparation information. Messages are strictly informational in nature and are not promotional advertisements or sales solicitations. Participation in SMS messaging is voluntary and is not required to access the Site.
Express Written Consent (Opt-In)
By providing your mobile telephone number and affirmatively opting in through any compliant web form or landing page, you provide your express written consent to receive SMS messages from the Company using automated or non-automated technology as permitted by applicable law. You represent that you are the authorized user of the mobile number provided and that you have authority to consent to receive such messages.
Message Frequency, Rates, and Carrier Disclaimer
Message frequency may vary based on user interaction and content availability, but users may generally receive between two (2) and eight (8) messages per month. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed, failed, or undelivered messages, and message delivery is subject to network availability and technical limitations beyond the Company’s control.
SMS Opt-Out and HELP Instructions
You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message. After processing your request, you will receive a final confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent unless you re-enroll. For assistance, you may reply HELP or contact us at [email protected].
Service Providers and Data Use
We may engage third-party vendors and service providers to support Site operations and SMS delivery. These providers are contractually required to maintain confidentiality and use personal information solely for service delivery on behalf of the Company. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for their independent marketing purposes.
Tracking Technologies
We may use cookies, analytics tools, and similar technologies to operate and improve the Site, measure engagement, and enhance user experience. Such tools may be used to associate user interactions with content engagement or communication preferences for operational purposes.
Intellectual Property Rights
All content on the Site, including articles, newsletters, text, graphics, and educational materials, is owned by or licensed to Assisting Renters and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish content without prior written authorization.
Account Suspension and Termination
Renters Help reserves the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate any account at any time, with or without notice, if it reasonably believes that a user has violated these Terms, engaged in fraud or abuse, created security risks, or otherwise acted in a manner that may harm Renters Help, its users, advertisers, or business partners. Users may discontinue use of the Services at any time.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind. The Company does not guarantee any specific financial, credit, housing, or personal outcomes resulting from use of the Site or SMS services.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL RENTERS HELP, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AFFILIATES, AGENTS, CONTRACTORS, SUCCESSORS, OR ASSIGNS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR LOSS OF GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICES. IN NO EVENT SHALL RENTERS HELP’S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00).
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Renters Help, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, contractors, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or relating to your use of the Services, your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or your infringement of any rights of another person or entity.
Modification of Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Site or SMS program after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Updated Terms shall become effective immediately upon posting to the Services unless otherwise stated.
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Michigan, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located within the State of , and you consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of those courts.
